Mississippi between 1983and 1986. Here, he was a member of the golf team. His sight deteriorated gradually, and in 2014, Darcy joined the MBSA. From this starting point, he developed his blind golf career.

He also finished runner up in the Western Canadian in the same year. He represented team North America in the 2017 Vision Cup in Creston, and is looking forward to representing the team in Portmarnock Links.
Something interesting about Darcy, he tells us, “For 20 years I worked for the Winnipeg School Division as an Educational Assistant with behavioural/special needs students. I am currently retired and enjoy keeping up with our local sports teams, the Winnipeg Jets and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. I also enjoy Canadian and American politics. Personally, my inspiration comes from my mother who also has RP. Her overall enthusiasm for life, still at the age of 80, is inspiring!! I try to pass it along to the people I know. I would have to say that my number one hobby is being a good father and husband”.
